1901-1939

1st April 1939 - Henry Harbin School founded, the first headmaster was E.H.P. Smith.

4th-19th September 1939 - The school was closed to help feed and provide medical check-ups for evacuee children.

24th June 1940 - One of the groundkeepers was called up for military service.

4th December 1940 - Mr Rowland, the handicraft master, went on leave to work in armament production.

1948 - Both the boys' and the girls' schools had 16 teachers and 480 students.

1948 - H.P. Smith published a book titled 'The Town of Poole: Origins and Early Development.'

1952-1953 - The construction of a building extension increased student capacity to 600 per school.

1959 - Approximate total student population was 650 boys and 650 girls.

1963 - The four houses of the boys' school were Joliffe, Longspee, Havilland, and Thompson.

1964 - H.P. Smith retired as headteacher, citing reasons of ill health.

7th February 1945- E.H. Smith became the new headteacher.

1966 - The Henry Harbin Photography Society produced a video of the school.
