Beaufort School closed its doors in 1987.

School reunions are still being held at Beaufort Community Centre with proceeds raised donated to CLIC Sargent Children's Cancer Charity.

Bournemouth School is currently undergoing extensive building works to be able to offer even more opportunities to its students. 

​

The headmaster, Dr Dorian Lewis, summed up the sense of community in his termly newsletter in December -

​

"Some beyond our school gates think we at Bournemouth School are simply obsessed with league tables and examinations; nothing could be further from the truth! When writing the introduction to each termly newsletter, I am reminded of the thriving community of which I am a part. It is a real privilege to serve as headmaster, ensuring that we prepare our young people for their lives ahead by instilling in them our very simple and fundamental values of hard work, discipline, smart appearance and respect."

Henry Harbin, now Poole High School, has continually grown over time. It currently accommodates approximately 1750 'lower-school' students (Years 7 to 11). The school's sixth form accounts for a further 300 students.

In a letter, headteacher Paul Gray describes how Poole High School functions as its own community -

"At Poole High School you will see a vibrant and thriving community, committed to the well-being and future prospects of the young people that we work for. We are a large school - this alone brings enormous benefits for our learning community, but we also pride ourselves upon the positive ethos and warmth of relationships in which our young people flourish. We have established a very successful pastoral system, which reflects the value we place upon each individual – it sustains our reputation as ‘a big school with a small school atmosphere."
