One of the first jobs every boy had to do, on the first day each year, was make a cardboard timetable with a sliding cursor to accommodate 'day 6' of a six day timetable
There was a cane displayed in a glass case in the Head's office, but public opinion was turning against the use of corporal punishment in schools
The whole year got 100 lines for indulging in a no-holds-barred acorn fight

We had a "Speech Day" annually, usually at the Winter Gardens

There are lots of lunchtime and after school clubs which are all run by the teaching staff in their own time and they are mostly free

I am a member of the chess club. We play against people from all year groups as well as inter-school competitions

I'm looking forward to the year 9 Germany trip and the year 10 Battlefields trip as well as doing A levels later on

I've just started my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and joined the RAF branch of the CCF which I've been looking forward to since I started Bournemouth School
