Summer and Winter Fairs
The Summer and Winter Fairs occured annually and provided entertainment for elderly residents in Bournemouth.

These fairs usually involved a meal and entertainment for the guests which provided pupils with a chance to learn and serve the local community.

Catering Course
In 1952 a Bournemouth-wide educational initiative was launched to outsource vocational training to secondary modern schools.
​
The subject groups were designed to match the demands of the various types of employment in the local area.
​
In accordance with this Stourfield Mixed School (and later Beaufort) provided a 2 year "Hotel and Catering" technical course.
